Hostess with the Mostest
This year Thanksgiving is on November 24th, which is only 3 weeks away! Do you know what you are doing for the holiday this year - maybe hosting in your home, being a guest at a friend’s or family's house, or going out to dinner? Well, regardless of your holiday plans I am sure you will be surrounded by good food, amazing cocktails, and even better desserts - which all create a swoon worthy atmosphere. Check out some of our favorite Thanksgiving dishes, cocktails, and desserts for this season!
First things first - food! Is it just me or are you always looking at a menu before getting to the restaurant, planning your next meal whilst eating, or following great foodie content on instagram just for the fun of it…?
Well, maybe you do, maybe you don’t, or maybe I’m just weird. Regardless, one of my go to appetizers on Thanksgiving are these Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms. These mushrooms are stuffed with hot Italian sausage, sun dried tomatoes, a multitude of cheeses, garlic, onion, and delicious Italian seasonings. This dish is a household favorite and a staple in my home on Thanksgiving. I usually accompany these with another favorite appetizer of mine, Prosciutto Wrapped Cantaloupe. These Italian inspired appetizers pair beautifully together and will be sure to impress your guests!
Of course with food also comes drinks. On Thanksgiving I love a seasonal cocktail to really kick off the party! My drink of choice this year is this Cranberry Thyme Spritz. This cocktail has around 20 minutes of prep time but an afternoon of fun ;)
The sweetness comes from the honey and elderflower and the tartness comes from the lime, grapefruit, and cranberries - making this drink the perfect flavor packed, party starting, cocktail this season! Let’s be honest, starting the party is just as important as ending it. That’s why at the end of the night, instead of a cup of coffee, we opt for Espresso Martinis! Check out this simple Recipe for your nightcap this year.
Are you full yet? I hope not, because last up on the menu is dessert! While some play it safe and stick to the basics on Thanksgiving like apple, pumpkin, or blueberry pie (a la mode I hope!). I am suggesting a new, comfort filled pie for all my chocolate lovers this year - check out this Molten Chocolate Crackle Pie. However, I acknowledge the pumpkin lovers too (I mean, hey! This is YOUR season!). These Iced Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies will for sure send your guest into the perfect food coma.
I hope you are ready to party - Happy Thanksgiving!
